What is a MOTHER ? Acronym / Titus 2 Moms

My friend Cindy gave a devotional talk for our Titus 2 Moms group last week.  She does not have her own blog, so for a spot for the moms to read what she said, her notes are posted here from  May 22-27.

 M-O-T-H-E-R

H: Give your child a HERITAGE in two basic areas: familial and spiritual. Teach your children to HONOR your family background, your childhood. This will give her a sense of belonging and add to her self-identity. Also, establish some traditions to your family to create fond memories of her own childhood. Things we can count on add to our sense of security. traditions you set will give your family a mark of distinction -- make it special. When your children are grown, the traditions of their family will become the threads holding the tapestry of her life together, giving it design and unique purpose.

Your testimonies I have taken as a HERITAGE forever,
for they are the rejoicing of my heart. Psalm 119:11

As important as I believe this is, giving your child a spiritual heritage is far more important. Begin to educate her at an early age as to who God is, who Jesus is, and what Jesus did on the cross for her personally. In so doing, you will be paving the way for her to make a decision to be identified with the family of God when she is older. It is absolutely essential for children to learn early about God and His unconditional love for them.

When you give a child a heritage about both her earthly family and her heavenly family, you build her confidence and a strong sense of identity. This will give your child genuine self-esteem.
