We've done this in the past especially when our children were elementary - middle school age. I took this photo on Saturday. They were already prepping the park, planting flowers, etc.

Changing Your Air Conditioning Filter / Where To Buy A/C Filters

I used to buy A/C filters at Home Depot or Lowe's until we moved into our home.  The ones they sell did not fit so I had to hunt for a place that sold filters that did.  Our air conditioning maintenance man used to get them for us each year at about $90 for a box of four.  These were the special MERV 7 filters that you replace every three months.   I started picking them up myself but the store is about a half hour away or longer.  With my limited use of a car during the day, I really wanted them delivered WITHOUT charge.

Orlando February 2012 ArtsFest

I'm not sure if you saw the insert in Sunday's paper [Feb. 22] about the upcoming ArtsFest during the month of  February here in  the Orlando area--both ticketed and non-ticketed events.. I'm sure everyone has seen this via email, RSS feeds or Facebook, but if you haven't heard, Starbucks is again offering a buy one, get one free HOLIDAY DRINK, from November 17 (today) through November 20, 2011  from 2-5 p.m.    Last year they ran a 12 Days of Christmas event which included BOGO bags of coffee so I'll be watching for that as well to let you know.

FREE LOCAL EVENT: Festival of the Masters Downtown Disney November 11-13, 2011

If you're looking for something fun and FREE to do this weekend, check out Disney's Festival of the Masters at Downtown Disney this Friday-Sunday (Nov. 11-13, 2011).  Excellent artwork by many artists that also show their work at the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival.

Grab  a cup of coffee or snack and spend the afternoon or stay for dinner.  Should be lovely weather this weekend.  This would make a fun date outing.

Our family is respectful of  the military and honor them as we can.  We often thank them for their service to us and our country when seeing them in uniform out in public, at airports, etc.  This Friday, Veterans Day, is a day to remember those who have been lost and to thank those who are still with us.  I am glad to see so many companies are honoring veterans that day.

FREE MOVIE SCREENING: The Way / October 20, 2011

Heard this on WTLN yesterday.  There is a free screening of the Christian movie The Way starring Martin Sheen, on THURSDAY, October 20, at the AMC Altamonte Mall 18 theater.

"The Way" is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends, and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world. Martin Sheen plays Tom, an American doctor who comes to St. Jean Pied de Port, France to collect the remains of his adult son (played by Emilio Estevez), killed in the Pyrenees in a storm while walking the Camino de Santiago, also known as The Way of Saint James. Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage to honor his son's desire to finish the journey. What Tom doesn't plan on is the profound impact the journey will have on him and his "California Bubble Life."
