Advent Devotional
When God made the world, He spoke and said "Let there be..." and there was! Take time to thank God for all He has created. Who was the Word, with God in the beginning? Who was the Word who was with God? Jesus, full of grace and truth.

If you are looking for a way to exercise or teach charity this Christmas season, here are two opportunities sent to me by a friend:
1. Voice of the Martyrs is a very reputable Christian aid organization. They have been around forever, and we've taken part in many of their projects in the past. At their web site, www.persecution.com, you can read about other practical ways to encourage Christians who are imprisoned for their faith, as well as sign up to receive their Kids of Courage magazine, which is also available by download from www.kidsofcourage.com.
2. Another excellent Christmas program is sponsored by Partners International. The Harvest of Hope on-line catalog features gifts you can give to needy people around the world, such as water filtration supplies, farm animals and seeds for micro-businesses, school supplies, food, medical care, Bibles, bicycles for Christian workers, sports equipment for community development, relief packs for refugees and prisoners, musical instruments for churches, vocational training for women, etc.
