13 Years of Home Ownership

Update 8.16.12:  14 years in our home... not a high-ceilinged manse like many these days, but oh, so comfortable.  I love this house and am thankful to have raised our children in  this quiet, safe neighborhood.
===========================================================

2011:  This week I started weeding through thousands of photos in our iPhoto program.  I Dropbox-ed about 2000 of them to our church for its 20th anniversary celebration in November and of course, came across many that I had long forgotten that  I had taken.    One of the photos that I saw was this Yard of the Month photo of our home taken in the Spring of 2005.  We had just completely redone our yard after recovering from all of the damage during the 2004 hurricane season here.  This and the new roof were two of the projects that year.

We bought this house thirteen years ago today.  It has been a great house for raising children and I can't think of anyplace I'd rather have lived while raising ours.   I had bought a condo in 1985 and had lived there as a single, a married couple and a family with two children.  It was time to sell and move and we could afford to do so in 1998.  It doesn't look exactly like the photo above now since the landscaper planted quite a few plants in the wrong place for our summer sun, but is much easier to maintain these days. Regardless, it is home and I am so thankful to live here.

Thank you, Lord, for our Home, Sweet Home for these last 13 years.  Thank you for making it a haven for our family and friends.  I pray that our children look back on our years together here with fond memories of their childhoods and that those who have visited  have found encouragement and love.
